Many people will perform four rounds of Tabata intervals, totalling 16 minutes for their entire workout.  The 16 minute workout may sound too short, but the idea is to exercise as hard as possible during each 20 second work phase. Because these workouts are so demanding, your body will burn fat at a much faster rate than traditional cardio workouts.
